The latest episode of WWE SmackDown featured another Fatal Four-Way to advance to the finals of the King of the Ring tournament. Along with Raw, both are throwing two four-ways, with the winners advancing. Who better than “The Legend Killer” Randy Orton to steal the show in this unique format, proving to have the best finisher of all time.
Orton Advances On WWE SmackDown
Orton was victorious in his bout against LA Knight, Aleister Black, and Carmelo Hayes. Black would have also been a good decision, giving him a boost on his recent return to the company. Later that evening, Cody Rhodes advanced at the expense of Damian Priest, Andrade, and Shinsuke Nakamura. The tournament is the main story, but “The Viper” stole the show on SmackDown. Typically, his crisp movements and ring IQ are enough to main-event any card, but he pulled out yet another version of the RKO.
RKO Throughout WWE History
Orton has so many unbelievable RKOs out of nowhere. The Sportster made a top-ten list, including catching Evan Bourne mid-air as he executed a shooting star press and countering a stomp from Seth Rollins, launching him into the air and catching him with an RKO on the way down. The “Outta Nowhere” gimmick is more than that, as the veteran continues to create genius ways to pull it off. What better time to show a royal counter than the King of the Ring tournament?

New RKO On SmackDown
During the fatal four-way, Hayes climbed to the top rope with a finish on his mind. Supine on the ground below was Knight as he leaped for a frog splash. The Legend Killer caught him mid-air with an RKO, but also ensured “The Megastar” was still hit by the splash.

End Of My WWE Rant
The finisher is versatile, and Orton pulls it off with a fluidity like none other. It’s a reversal of almost any move, and can look good in a drive-by fashion, such as onto a table or steel chairs. He also has proven to be the best talent to pull it off. His abilities allow him to look smooth with hundreds of different wrestlers.
