Saturday night marked the completion of the 2025 Money in the Bank PLE, which was largely successful and entertaining. R-Truth got his revenge on John Cena with his Ron Killings repackaging, Seth Rollins won an exhilarating ladder match, and Jacob Fatu finally turned on Solo Sikoa. There is no ying without yang, no good without evil. To balance out the beguiling event, here are the top three blunders.
1) Naomi Winning WWE Money In The Bank Contract

Nobody predicted this veteran pulling out the win in this Money in the Bank ladder match. The match featured three of the most talented up-and-comers on the roster: Roxanne Perez, Giulia, and Stephanie Vaquer. Rhea Ripley and Alexa Bliss, two more popular veterans, were the other participants.
WWE has been working on Naomi‘s gimmick since her heel turn in March. Yahoo! Sports reported the Hall of Famer, Booker T, suggesting this turn will boost her to the main event level. The idea was good, but the execution has been poor. She looks uncomfortable on the mic, unsure of herself and her gimmick. Despite numerous attempts, the briefcase winner has yet to find a ring attire involving caution tape that works.
One would assume a long-term strategy behind a decision like this. Naomi has been feuding with Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill during her heel turn, fueling speculation about their involvement. Will she have a successful cash-in only to drop the title to one of the two? Or might one of them interfere and ruin her attempt? This storyline will reflect an opinion on Cargill—has she progressed enough to enter the title picture, or is Belair simply too talented and established to overlook?
2) Becky Lynch New WWE Women’s IC Champion

WWE has messed up this storyline throughout, and the bewilderment continued at Money in the Bank. Management devalued the Women’s Tag Team Championship by dropping it to them, then losing them right away to kickstart this feud. In singles action, Khel Now reports Lyra Valkyria winning both of their previous official singles bouts.
In a feud that’s been boiling for months, closing the door on this rivalry and lifting Valkyria’s status would be a more entertaining decision. There’s no logic in giving Lynch another IC title shot and booked as the more dominant star despite the 1-2 record. One would assume a title rematch and further storyline, burying a championship that could have spotlighted some of the best workers.
3) Over Promotion at WWE MITB

There’s no hiding from ads and promotional content these days. The baby step into this world for WWE was the introduction of Prime as their first official hydration drink partner. The deal included a hydration station ringside and a logo on the mat for special events. The marketing evolved, and the latest Money in the Bank saw plenty of ads on the mat, in the middle, and all around the outside.
Fans might get used to that. It’s there, but it’s not overly bothersome. Things went too far with a couple of specific agreements. During one of the matches, a table was covered in Slim Jim logos, repeatedly referred to as the Slim Jim table. An overabundance of product placement is one thing, but it negatively affects the product when forcing commentary to reference it throughout.
Just as fans forgot about the Slim Jim table, the men introduced the Fireball Whiskey ladder. The ladder was tall and bright, with Fireball ads all along the side. WWE made commentary repeatedly mention this as well, cheapening the product.
End Of My WWE Money In The Bank Rant
Money in the Bank was triumphant and entertaining in general, but these top three mistakes cannot go unnoticed. What’s next, Dude Wipes clean steel chairs? Hopefully, Naomi can become more comfortable with her gimmick, or the eighth winner risks becoming the first woman to cash in unsuccessfully, per The SmackDown Hotel. Lastly, the Women’s Intercontinental Championship picture has seen nobody but Lynch and Valkyria in the frame, and it’s time to introduce some new brushstrokes.
