The Dallas Cowboys took on the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday and, in stunning fashion, rallied from a 21-point deficit to shock the Eagles with a last-second field goal. They also notched their fifth win and second consecutive victory.

1. Cowboys Defense Steps Up

The first half was a completely different story from the second, as the Eagles’ offense went cold and they let a key division game slip away in a shocking 21-point comeback win for Dallas. Also, driven by costly mistakes.

Up until halftime, the Cowboys were making mistakes and fell into a 21-point hole. A roughing the punter penalty went unchallenged by head coach Brian Schottenheimer, and an offside call on Jadeveon Clowney stopped a third-down drive.

Ceedee Lamb had some dropped passes, and KaVonte Turpin lost a fumble. The second half told a different story, as the Cowboys pitched a shutout, made several key third-down stops, and sacked Jalen Hurts to set up the game-winning drive.

The defense has faced criticism all season, but tonight they played their hearts out and earned this win. Heading into Thanksgiving with an opportunity to win against the Kansas City Chiefs bodes well for the team’s momentum.

The Cowboys keep their playoff hopes alive for another week, thanks to a stellar performance by the defense—job well done.

2. George Pickens Career Year

All season long, Pickens has stepped up whenever the Cowboys needed a big play, and tonight was no different. One of his highlights was a long, contested catch between two defenders that set up the game-tying touchdown.

Also adding to the day was Pickens reaching 1,000 yards on the season. With a change of scenery and being in a place where he can shine, this season he’s putting himself on the radar to get paid this offseason.

3. Season Defining Win

The biggest question for this team is whether they can make the playoffs, and after winning two in a row, the Cowboys are riding high heading into Thanksgiving week against the Chiefs. The momentum and all the buzz are exciting.

Quinnen Williams, the newest Cowboy acquired from the Jets at the NFL trade deadline, has been the biggest boost to the defense. His game-changing impact has given the Dallas defense a fresh new look.

The opportunity is there, but the losses to the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears still loom large. The key is to control what you can and keep winning.

4. Ceedee Lamb Drops

One concerning issue lately has been Lamb’s performance, with multiple drops and a lack of focus. He was benched last week against the Raiders, and today he dropped a touchdown that could have put the Cowboys ahead after a fumble on the punt return.

The Cowboys went for the win on 4th down but couldn’t convert. Fortunately, late in the 4th, Lamb made a brilliant catch to set up a Cowboys score.

The drops are still a concern, and moving forward, it’s worth considering if he’s truly the best wide receiver on this team.

The notion of Lamb being traded is ridiculous right now, but his future contract with the Cowboys needs to be discussed, along with whether he deserves to be among the top-paid players.

5. Marshawn Kneeland Memory

This win truly meant something. Winning this game for Kneeland and honoring his memory is something the Cowboys will never forget, keeping it in their hearts for a long time.

For many fans everywhere, the heartache for this organization is real, and seeing them come out and win today says a lot.

The season is still young, and while the Cowboys have only a slim chance of making the playoffs, don’t tell Dak Prescott and the rest of the Dallas squad. They’ve won two straight and now have their sights set on taking down the Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day.

A win there, and the conversation might start to change.
