The New York Knicks have been crowned as the NBA Champions, and it’s time to look ahead to next season. The Golden State Warriors have work to do if they want to make another run in the Stephen Curry era. They currently hold the 11th pick in the NBA Draft. That can get them an exciting young player for the future, or be moved for a win now piece. If they want to go all in, they will likely need to move that pick for one of these players.

5. Domantas Sabonis

This would be an odd acquisition given his history with Draymond Green, but Domantas Sabonis needs to get out of Sacramento. At 30 years old, he needs a fresh start somewhere that he can compete. He only played 19 games last season, averaging 15.8 points, 11.4 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 54% from the field. Adding a player that can get double digit rebounds every night can’t be a bad thing.

4. Michael Porter Jr

The Warriors should’ve made this trade at the trade deadline. Michael Porter Jr is 28 years old and rotting in Brooklyn. The guy is a walking bucket and he knows what it takes to climb the mountain. Porter Jr was a crucial part of the Denver Nuggets team that won the championship in 2023. Last season, he posted 24.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game and shot 46% from the field and 36% from three.

3. Trey Murphy III

Acquiring Trey Murphy III from New Orleans would be a massive win for Golden State. He is a severely underrated player who is on a terrible team. The Warriors desperately need another two-way wing that doesn’t require the ball in his hands. Murphy fits perfectly next to Curry because he can space the floor, defend multiple positions, and thrives off movement. That will always be valuable to an NBA team. In 66 games last season, the 26-year-old averaged 21.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game. It would be tough to get him, but his playstyle would fit perfectly in the Bay.

2. Anthony Davis

If Anthony Davis doesn’t like the direction of the Washington Wizards, someone will have to save him. Golden State would be a great fresh start for him at 33 years old. Davis appears to be past his prime, but the right situation could squeeze a few more years of good basketball out of him. He can still offer elite defense and spacing to a team like the Warriors. Davis averaged a double-double in 20 games played last season. Golden State could be hopeful that Davis attracts an old friend to join him in the Bay.

1. Kawhi Leonard

Trading for Kawhi Leonard is a move that would instantly catapult the Warriors back into contention. He is 35, but he still has the goods. His resume speaks for itself. Leonard is a seven time All-NBA player, two time Finals MVP, and a two time Defensive Player of the Year. He stole the 2019 championship from Golden State, but this could be a great opportunity to make it right. A lineup that includes Curry and Leonard could be lethal.

End Of My Golden State Warriors Rant

The Warriors need to take advantage of this offseason. In the trade market, free agency, and the NBA Draft. They need to do anything it takes to get Curry back to the playoffs with a real team around him. He is still playing elite basketball. Curry won’t play forever, and Golden State can’t afford another quiet offseason. Whether it’s trading the 11th pick or making an aggressive move for another star, the front office has one job: maximize whatever championship window remains.
