The 2026 MLB Draft begins Saturday in Philadelphia, and the Milwaukee Brewers will enter the first round holding the No. 25 overall pick. While there is little consensus on which prospect Milwaukee will select, several national mock drafts have linked the Brewers to a mix of college stars and high-upside prep talent.

Below are four suggestions brought forth by national pundits and websites in their 2026 mock drafts for Milwaukee to use in their selection.

Outfield Selections Are Available For The Brewers

Fansided.com conducted its mock draft, and the outlet proposed that the Brewers will pick Zion Rose, an outfielder from the University of Louisville. Editor Chris Landers feels Milwaukee should pick Rose, which would make him the ninth position player chosen by the Brewers over the last ten drafts.

The 20-year-old Rose stands 6’1″ and weighs 200 pounds, and he hit .417 for the Cardinals in 2026. According to Landers, his offense is what matters.

“(Milwaukee) loves offensive upside if it identifies a hitter it likes, and Rose has a lot to like after displaying a unique combination of contact and power at Louisville,” Landers writes. “His lack of defensive value in the outfield is going to put a lot of pressure on the bat, but at this point in the first round, it’s well worth the risk for a Brewers team that will always bet on athletes. His top-line production is second to none.”

Dan Zielinski of Baseball Prospect Journal also has the Brewers selecting an outfielder, but he thinks it will be heading to Milwaukee. MLB.com has Sawyer Strosnider as their 22nd-best prospect, and his scouting report is glowing.

From his profile on the MLB website: “(Strosnider) starred as a freshman and became just the sixth NCAA Division I player in the past 25 seasons to reach double figures in homers, triples, doubles and steals. Despite a late-season slump as a sophomore, he could surpass Braden Taylor (No. 19 overall in 2023) as the highest-drafted hitter in Horned Frogs history.”

The Brewers Could Land A Difference-Making Pitcher

One of the pitchers who could fall to number 25 is Cameron Flukey, a right-hander flamethrower from Coastal Carolina. Ryan Phillips, from SI.com, feels selecting Flukey would be a major coup for someone “who once looked like a lock for the top 15.”

Here is an excerpt of Flukey’s scouting report:

“Flukey was one of the top college pitchers entering the season, but a rib injury sidelined him for all but seven starts. He finished the campaign 0–2 with a 4.13 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 24 innings. That followed a dominant sophomore season in which he went 8–2 with a 3.19 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 118 strikeouts against 24 walks in 101 ⅔ innings. At 6’6″ and 210 pounds, he generates good carry on his mid-90s fastball and also features a plus slider and a solid upper-70s curveball.”

Bleacher Report has the Brewers dipping into the high school ranks for their top selection, and their mock draft has Carson Bolemon going to Milwaukee. Bolemon was the 2026 Gatorade Player of the Year in South Carolina.

One major league scout, who wished to remain anonymous, feels the 6’4″ lefty has the moxie to make it big.

“Carson Bolemon has elite stuff on the mound,” said the scout. “He’s got a plus-plus fastball, a plus-plus breaking ball and has excellent control. If he’s not the top high school pitching prospect in this draft, he’s very close to the top.”

End Of My Brewers Rant: Gems Have Been Plucked At Pick No. 25

For those who believe owning the 25th-overall pick will not amount to much, a look at recent history will prove otherwise. In fact, one selection is a no-brainer Hall of Famer.

That slot has produced Mike Trout in 2009, who, even if he retired tomorrow, is destined for Cooperstown. Other notable All-Stars chosen with that designation are pitcher Sonny Gray and third baseman Matt Chapman.

Whether the Brewers target an accomplished college hitter, a power arm, or a high-upside prep prospect, the No. 25 overall pick in the 2026 MLB Draft gives Milwaukee an opportunity to add another cornerstone to its farm system. History suggests impact players can still be found at that spot.
