TNA capped off a massive wrestling weekend for fans with Bound for Glory, the last of its tentpole PPVs. It featured appearances by legends and multiple title changes, marking the start of a new era for the world’s third-most prominent wrestling promotion. In the aftermath of the event, here are three things that will happen over the coming weeks.

3) The Hardys Will Leave TNA

Matt and Jeff Hardy (the later brother pictured above) are undoubtedly wrestling royalty. They have won multiple championships, both as a team and individually. They also have feuded with each other, though most fans will say that it was disappointing given the bond between them.

At this point, however, the Hardys have nothing more left to prove in TNA. Sunday’s loss to the Syx duo of Joseph Sawyer and Samuel Shaw, their second in the span of four days, solidified that, and the Hardys should eventually pass the torch and depart.

As for what happens to the tag division, the ploy is clear: the Syx are coming for the belts. It may not happen now, but one way or another, Sawyer and Shaw will win them at some point.

2) Daria Rae Will Be Indi Hartwell’s First Challenger

Daria Rae has been one of TNA’s most polarizing figures since arriving in January as “Director of Operations”. Throughout that time, “The SUIT”/”Director of Operations” has angered fans time and again by often overriding Director of Authority Santino Marella.

In the buildup to Bound for Glory, however, Marella got his revenge when he managed to catch Rae slapping Indi Hartwell. This was a pivotal moment, as Rae had been denying the Australian a shot at the Knockouts title, and it led to Rae’s suspension.

Presumably, Rae could only angrily watch as Hartwell went on to dethrone Xia Brookside on Sunday. Now, she has even more reason to go after the new champion. This is a very easy feud for TNA to start when it hosts tapings on Tuesday and Wednesday.

1) Mustafa Ali Will Be The Next TNA World Champion

Mustafa Ali has easily been one of TNA’s best heels of the 2020s. His willingness to pore over his opponents’ personal lives has garnered him plenty of heat. One need only look at how he alluded to Mike Santana’s real-life struggles with addiction during their feud last year.

This year, Ali had a memorable saga with Order 4 stablemate Jason Hotch, whose wife and daughter he even sat beside in a segment. It was a perfect heel moment – one that garnered sympathy for the young gun. It all culminated in a fatal four-way for the International Championship also involving John Skyler and Agent Zero, which Hotch won to secure the title for a second time.

With Order 4 done now, Ali can now shift his attention to bigger things – particularly record-breaking new World Champion Leon Slater. Make no mistake about it: after all that he has done to elevate the International title, he deserves a crack at the big one – and he should win it.

End Of My TNA Bound For Glory Rant

It will be over a month before TNA’s next live special – Destination X. Still, the fact that the promotion has tapings scheduled for this week is a major improvement from 12 months ago.

Doing retrospectives instead of actual in-ring action had served to kill TNA’s momentum after an epic show. Now, here is hoping that Delirious and the rest of creative have interesting things in their minds…
