The 2025 NFL season is in full swing. Through two weeks, it’s been wildly entertaining, and fans are overreacting in a wonderful way. No time to rest, though, Week 3 is right around the corner, so let’s get to some predictions.
The Dolphins have been painful to watch this season. They were blown out by Indiana Jones, then lost a close game to a rebuilding New England Patriots. Head coach Mike McDaniel is on the hot seat, and the offense is as inept as ever.
The Bills are the exact opposite of their division rival. They’re 2-0, and Josh Allen is putting up MVP numbers again. Something about Buffalo feels different in the big 2025. If they lose this game, it’ll be the upset of the year.
Winner: Buffalo Bills
It was hard to tell on Sunday night if the Falcons’ defense was dominant or if the Minnesota Vikings were just that bad. Michael Penix Jr. had a tough game, but Atlanta’s defense was smothering in a 22-6 win.
The Panthers are 0-2, and it feels like more of the same from Bryce Young. The offense isn’t explosive, and the defense hasn’t been up to par. If the Falcons play like they did last week, Bryce Young is about to get mauled.
Winner: Atlanta Falcons
There’s not much that needs to be said here. The Browns are 0-2, and they just got blown out by the Baltimore Ravens 41-17. This team is not competitive against powerful opponents.
This may be reactionary to say after two weeks, but the Packers look like deep playoff contenders. Green Bay shouldn’t brush the Browns off, there’s no reason why they should lose this game.
Winner: Green Bay Packers
The Texans might be the most disappointing team of 2025 so far. They should be at the top of the AFC South, but they have yet to win a game. They need to turn things around fast if they want to make the playoffs.
The Jaguars are officially the “fun and frisky” team of 2025. They’re entertaining to watch, even when they lose. The offense is loaded with talent, but Liam Coen still needs to find a rhythm with it. This game might be close, but Houston needs the win more.
Winner: Houston Texans
The showdown everyone’s been waiting for: Jake Browning vs. Carson Wentz. This isn’t what fans expected ahead of the season, but alas, here we are. Joe Burrow is set to miss up to three months with a turf toe injury, and J.J. McCarthy could miss several weeks with a high ankle sprain.
This is a tough game to predict with two backup QBs, but the Vikings’ defense kept them afloat for most of Sunday Night Football. This could be a low-scoring game with Minnesota taking the W.
Winner: Minnesota Vikings
Three weeks into the season, and it’s hard to tell if either of these teams are actually good. Both are 1-1, and both of their wins came against less-than-stellar opponents.
The Patriots are still finding their identity under new head coach Mike Vrabel, but the Steelers are looking to make a playoff run with Aaron Rodgers. Pittsburgh’s defense needs to wake up and return to form for this “all-in” approach to work.
Winner: Pittsburgh Steelers
The Rams are currently 2-0, and by no means do they look like a bad team. They’ve been impressive through two weeks, and could make a case for the NFC West by the year’s end. They’re walking into an NFC Divisional Round rematch on Sunday.
There’s not much to say about the Eagles at this point. They beat the Kansas City Chiefs last week, and Jalen Hurts only threw for 101 yards. This team excels in every phase of the game, and there’s no reason to doubt them here.
Winner: Philadelphia Eagles
How about that Buccaneers comeback on Monday Night Football? Baker Mayfield has ice in his veins when it matters most, and in the final seconds, he put the Texans’ defense in the ground. This team is impressive and might even outperform its 2024 season.
The Jets were flat-out bad against the Bills last week, and losing Justin Fields could only make things worse. Fields is officially ruled out for Sunday, leaving the offense in Tyrod Taylor’s hands. Barring a generational performance from Taylor, the Bucs shouldn’t have a problem winning this one.
Winner: Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Colts’ Week 2 win came down to a leverage penalty on a missed field goal. Daniel Jones has been impressive, but it’s still too early to hop on the bandwagon. They do, however, have a good matchup for Week 3.
The Titans have their QB in Cam Ward, but 2025 will be a frustrating year for Tennessee fans. Seeing the rookie do everything he can to elevate a mediocre surrounding cast is painful. This team might start to find some chemistry, but they can’t hang with Indiana Jones right now.
Winner: Indianapolis Colts
The Commanders suffered a tough loss to the Packers on Thursday Night Football, but the bigger story is Jayden Daniels’ knee. He had an MRI and is considered “day-to-day”. This game hinges on how healthy he is.
The Raiders struggled against the Los Angeles Chargers on Monday night. The Bolts are an extremely good team so far, so it could’ve just been a bad matchup. If Daniels is full-go on Sunday, the Commanders should take this one.
Winner: Washington Commanders
It’s safe to say the Broncos are not living up to their expectations so far in 2025. Denver’s defense has been touted as one of the NFL’s best, but when it came down to the wire, they let Indiana Jones and the Colts steal a win over them.
It also feels safe to say the Chargers are legit. Justin Herbert has been lights out in two NFL starts, and the defense has played exceptionally well. If Omarion Hampton can start cooking for them, this team might be a juggernaut.
Winner: Los Angeles Chargers
The Saints went into 2025 with ridiculously low expectations, and they’ve met them. With Mac Jones replacing Brock Purdy and George Kittle on IR, the San Francisco 49ers handed NOLA its second loss of the year.
The Seahawks started slow in Week 1, but looked much better against the Steelers. Sam Darnold is still settling into his new home, and the defense was impressive in a 31-17 win. The Saints will only win a handful of games this year, and this isn’t one of them.
Winner: Seattle Seahawks
The Chicago Bears are once again falling into old habits. From “offseason champions” to an 0-2 record, they’re still the same old Bears. Ben Johnson is still establishing a new culture, and that takes time, but he’s off to a rough start.
Allowing 37 points from the New York Giants isn’t something many teams do. The Cowboys came away with a win thanks to Brandon Aubrey’s magical kicking abilities, and the offense still hung 40 points. This is still a talented team, and they should come away with this one.
Winner: Dallas Cowboys
The 49ers were without Brock Purdy and George Kittle last week, and still pulled off a 26-21 win in New Orleans. The injury bug is attacking San Francisco again, but the team is ready for it. Purdy’s listed as “week-to-week” at the moment.
The Cardinals are 2-0 coming off a 27-22 win over the Panthers. This is their first real test of the season, and it’s hard to tell which version of the Niners they’ll face. If Mac Jones can replicate his Week 2 success, the rest of San Francisco’s roster will take care of the rest.
Winner: San Francisco 49ers
The Chiefs are 0-2 for the first time in the Patrick Mahomes era, and are currently fourth place in the AFC West. The Super Bowl hangover is hitting Kansas City, and they need to right the ship immediately. Luckily for them, they should get a win in Week 3.
The Giants played their best in years last Sunday. Russell Wilson threw for 450 yards and three touchdowns, and the defense was all over the field. The playcalling, however, is still mediocre, and they can’t close out games effectively. This could be a trap game, but the Chiefs shouldn’t lose on Sunday night.
Winner: Kansas City Chiefs
Monday Night Football is set to be a big one. The Lions are coming off a game where they dropped a 50-burger on former offensive coordinator Ben Johnson. Jared Goff looked great, Amon-Ra St. Brown was a monster, and the defense looked like its old self.
The Ravens had an almost equally impressive performance, dropping 41 on the Browns. They’ve scored over 80 points across two weeks to open the season. Two high-powered offenses go to war on Monday night in a toss-up. The Ravens might be the more consistent team right now, though, so they get the slight edge.
Winner: Baltimore Ravens
Week 3 of the NFL season is when things start heating up. The early-season frauds get exposed, and slower teams find their groove. Consistency is key in the NFL, and this week should start answering some questions.
