We are now in January, and like the late great Brodie Lee would always say, “You Know What That Means.” It’s time to look at the WWE Hall of Fame as the Road to WrestleMania begins. There are so many different wrestlers who are worthy of going into the Hall of Fame, but I have 10 candidates who I believe will most likely get inducted in 2025.
1. Batista
He’s going to be on this list until he’s officially in. After all, the original plan was to induct him in the 2020 class, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Batista had other obligations, and he wasn’t inducted.
Batista is one of the WWE’s big stars in the Ruthless Aggression Era. There are so many notable feuds and title reigns that you could make a top 10 list on it. Heck, I definitely will whenever Batista officially goes in.
My favorite is his development when in the Evolution faction, and it’s still crazy he initially wasn’t going to be in it. The original plan was for Mark Jindrak to be a part of it; there is footage of promos with him in it. But WWE decided to wait until Batista healed from his triceps injury, and Triple H felt Jindrak lacked maturity for the group. He got so over in that feud with Triple H and was a tremendous performer. As mentioned earlier, it’s not an if, but when he gets inducted.
2. Haku
With his three sons, Hikuleo, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa, under contract, now is the perfect time to induct Haku. Haku is one of the most legitimate tough guys in professional wrestling, and some of the stories involving him are insane. A fascinating fact about Haku is that he was so tough that he was one of the few professional wrestlers that Andre The Giant feared. It was him and Harley Race that terrified the Giant.
Haku also won the tag team champions with Andre and was called “The Colossal Connection.” Haku also was King of the Ring in WWE and was a notable name in the Heenan Family faction. WWE needs to put this man into the Hall of Fame, and his sons must induct him.
3. William Regal
William Regal is a highly respected professional wrestler in the ring and behind the scenes. He’s often named as one of the greatest pro wrestlers never to win the WWE or World Heavyweight champion. His run as NXT general manager during the Black and Gold era was terrific. It’s the best GM role in WWE, not named Teddy Long in Smackdown. With Triple H’s respect for Regal and what he dies behind the scenes, it’s not an if, but when he gets inducted.
4. Cyndi Lauper
WWE always includes a celebrity inductee in their Hall of Fame. I will be brief here: out of the celebrities, I think Cyndi Lauper should get inducted. She was a major reason Wrestlemania 1 was a success, as she brought many fans to watch the event. Wendi Richter needs to be at the ceremony if she does go in.
5. AJ Lee
It’s been 1 year of CM Punk in WWE, and it has surprised many that AJ Lee hasn’t been seen in the company. This is surprising, but it will change in 2025. Many speculate that she will be in the Woman’s Royal Rumble, but I think she needs to be in the Hall of Fame. She was one of the top female wrestlers in the Divas era of WWE women’s wrestling. She even had one of the longest reigns in the Divas Championship history, lasting 295 days. With Punk back in the good graces, putting AJ Lee in the WWE Hall of Fame would be a piece of cake if she accepted it.
6. Bray Wyatt
It still doesn’t feel right that Windham Rotunda, aka Bray Wyatt, passed away in 2023. I was surprised he wasn’t inducted last year, but with the family still grieving, it’s for the best that he didn’t go in. Instead, it was the US Express tag team that got in Mike “IRS” Rotunda (Bray Wyatt’s Dad) and Barry Windham (Bray Wyatt’s Uncle).
Bray Wyatt is a creative genius and with so many amazing characters he made with The Fiend, it was so awesome. Until Vince McMahon ruined it with the Hell in A Cell Fiasco and having Bill Goldberg pin him at one of the Sweet Saudi Money PPVs. Along with him winning multiple titles including the WWE Championship, it’s not an if, but when Bray gets in. If the family is ready, Bray Wyatt should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year, and we will all be excited.
7. Sid Eudy
It still angers me that WWE didn’t indict Sid Eudy into the Hall of Fame while he was alive. Sid Eudy wrestled under the ring names of Sid Justice, Sycho Sid, and Sid Vicious. This man was one of the best big-man professional wrestlers and won multiple championships, including the WWE Championship. Go back and watch that Survivor Series 1996 match he had with Shawn Michaels; it was awesome.
Sid Main Evented two Wrestlemania’s as well. The first was against Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania VIII, which led to the return of the Ultimate Warrior. The other was against The Undertaker at WrestleMania 13. Remember the one where he took a dump in the middle of the match? I told that story on the Ringside Rant Podcast.
He absolutely should be in the WWE Hall of Fame; whenever Sid’s family is ready, they should be the ones who induct him.
8. Miss Elizabeth
It’s crazy to believe, but Elizabeth Anne Howlett, aka Miss Elizabeth, is not inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. This is crazy because she was one of the best managers in pro wrestling and was a big reason Macho Man Randy Savage became a tremendous star. She was a key part of the Mega Powers feud involving Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage. Miss Elizabeth may have passed away in 2003, but they will never be forgotten in pro wrestling. It is time to write a wrong by putting her into the Hall of Fame.
9. The Nasty Boys
There is speculation that Demolition will go into the Hall of Fame, but I will believe it when I see it. While it seems they have a better relationship with Triple H than Vince McMahon, many forget that Demolition declined to enter the WWE Hall of Fame last year. Demolition Smash confirmed that.
The tag team I believe might go in is the Nasty Boys, Brian Knobs and Jerry Sags. The Nasty Boys held the WWE Tag Championships in the early 90s and were also WCW tag champs multiple times.
It helps that Booker T. has been campaigning for years for WWE to induct the Nasty Boys into the Hall of Fame. The Nasty Boys are also good friends with Hulk Hogan. WWE can even revive a Hulk Hogan appearance and have him induct them. I prefer Jimmy Hart, as he managed the Nasty Boys, but I wouldn’t mind Hulk doing it.
10. Brian Pillman
I am a little surprised that Pillman didn’t go in last year. His son Brian Pillman Jr, aka Lexis King, signed with NXT, and Pillman’s estate signed a Legends deal with WWE. Pillman is one of the greatest what-ifs in professional wrestling. With how great his Loose Cannon gimmick was, he could have been one of the faces of the WWE’s Attitude Era. Pillman was also a phenomenal wrestler in WCW and a part of the Hart Foundation Faction. Pillman passed away in 1997, and it’s time to include him in the WWE Hall of Fame because he was great in the ring and on the mic and had an unforgettable gimmick.
So, those are the 10 potential wrestlers/tag teams that I believe might get inducted into the Hall of Fame. My question to those reading is, Do you agree? Who did I leave out?
